Stress is normal. Constant, unmanaged stress is not.
• Box breathing: Breathe in for 4 counts, hold 4, out 4, hold 4. Repeat 4 times. Used by Navy SEALs — it works.
• When overwhelmed, write down everything in your head. Getting it out of your mind onto paper reduces the mental load significantly.
• Identify your stress triggers. Are you always anxious on Sunday evenings? Before certain people? Knowing why helps you prepare.
• Say no more often. Overcommitting is a major source of stress for young adults.
